AMD Opteron™
processors
Los Angeles, CA -- (INTERNET WIRE) – April 22, 2003 -- QSOL.COM, Inc.
today announced the availability of its new line of Dual AMD Opteron™
processor-based 64-bit series of servers, designed for high performance
clusters and 3D - visual effects animation in a server farm environment.
These AMD Opteron processor-based servers can be custom built using the
online configurator at http://qsol.com
“Customers can
benefit from QSOL.COM and AMD Opteron processor technology by enabling
users to benefit from 64-bit computing while maintaining compatibility
with today’s 32-bit applications.” said Joe Safai, CEO, QSOL.COM INC.
Designed for maximum
performance and density, the new QSOL systems, powered AMD Opteron
processors, provide high performance and reliability demanded by
businesses for their servers. With up to two AMD Opteron processors, the
servers are designed for maximum performance at a minimum footprint.
Other models include up to 4 internal or hot swappable redundant 250GB IDE
or 146GB SCSI drives for up to 1 Terabyte of storage per 1U server, nearly
42 Terabytes of power and storage in a standard rack cabinet.
"Our tests on the new
QSOL servers, powered by AMD Opteron processors, have significantly sped
up our render capabilities, allowing us to perform graphics at a
tremendous speed,” says Boy Wonder Visual Effects, Inc. CTO Brian Krusic.
Most systems will
also have optional high definition real-time editing controllers for
uncompressed real-time high definition record and playback.
“We are pleased to
continue supporting QSOL’s server lineup,” said Ben Williams, director,
AMD's Server/Workstation Business Segment. “AMD64 technology enables
64-bit performance with backward 32-bit compatibility, and offers dramatic
performance increases to optimize a variety of business applications,
including visual and graphics rendering.”
QSOL’s wide variety
of AMD Opteron processor-based systems enable customers to utilize QSOL’s
online SysBuilder to build their own configuration on the fly. Users can
